Researchers at the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare have documented that visiting green spaces in cities such as parks and community gardens reduces people's chances for having to take mental health drugs for anxiety and depression. But not only that, the positive impact also extents to physical health. "Visiting green spaces reduces the chances of a city resident having to take asthma or high blood pressure medication by a third and a quarter, respectively." Undeniably, green spaces in cities are good for our health.
