Mutual Aid, a group in Hackney, London, are working around the clock on their sewing machines to provide urgently-needed scrubs to doctors in the NHS. Volunteer sewers from the fashion industry have produced more than 60 batches of scrubs in a fortnight, with more volunteers and organizations stepping up to help with the national shortage. There is an increased need for scrubs in hospitals due to Covid-19, because doctors are now not wearing their own clothes at work to ensure there's no spread of the virus beyond the hospital environment.
