While most of the world's estimated 85 million skateboarders are 18 years old and under, veteran skater Judi Oyama is defying age expectations. At 64, Judi, who lives in Santa Cruz, California, is heading to the World Skate Games in Rome this fall. So far this season, she's ranked second in the world in slalom ahead of teenagers who are a quarter of her age. Oyama, who teaches amateurs how to skate, encourages more women to pick up a board. "I think I take every day as a gift and I try to get more out of a day than I think most people. I think I took skateboarding as some fun thing that not everyone gets to do," she said. "I just feel like I wanted to get the most out of it, but I never thought I would still be getting the most out of it."
