Southport bricklayer Tony Hill is rebuilding what rioters destroyed in his Lancashire, England, community. In a video clip on X that went viral, Hill can be seen sweating and smearing mortar while attempting to explain his motives. The mosque was burned down after three young women were stabbed to death and an avalanche of misinformation was spread on social media. “Get your facts straight before you start doing stuff. Facebook’s a dangerous thing,” Hill said. He hoped to have the wall finished in a few hours, and said if he had to rebuild it again, he wouldn’t hesitate. Viewed 5.4 million times on X, commenters celebrated Hill demonstrating what “being British is all about.”
