Dolly Parton is partnering with Walmart to assist with relief efforts after Hurricane Helene killed hundreds and left millions of homes and businesses without power throughout Florida, Georgia, North and South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. Parton donated $1 million to the Mountain Ways Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to providing immediate assistance to hurricane victims, and her East Tennessee businesses and the Dollywood Foundation have pledged an additional $1 million. “I look around and I think, these are my mountains, these are my valleys, these are my rivers flowing like a stream,” she said. Walmart US president and CEO John Furner said the company would raise its earlier pledge of $6 million up to a $10 million to hurricane relief efforts across the affected states.
