ICON, a 3D-printing construction technology company, will build a 100-home neighborhood for people facing chronic homelessness in the Community First! Village in Austin, Texas, The village is an initiative of nonprofit Mobile Loaves & Fishes, which has served the homeless population for more than 26 years. The neighborhood is being built in partnership with Lennar Foundation, the charitable arm of a major homebuilding company which previously built a 100-home 3D-printed community in Central Texas. The new homes, plus 1,400 new traditional builds, will be home to an estimated 1,800 previously homeless individuals. Each home will be placed around shared areas that include a cinema and amphitheater, community market, dog park, organic farm, chapel, memorial garden, health clinic, and more
