Twelve-year-old students from Woollahra Public School in Sydney, Australia, can tell you about the guard dog, the elephant, the owl and the sooty (a seagull-like black-feathered bird) that live in your brain. They use these animal analogies to teach younger students about how their brain reacts to stressful situations and how to take care of their mental health. Along with Grow Your Mind -- a social enterprise co-founded by primary school teacher Alice Peel, who helped them to create the podcast -- these youngsters' teaching about the importance of mental health and resilience is especially salient during this challenging time.
