Christmas came early to Canton, Miss., as an anonymous donor paid off 333 layaway items at the local Walmart. Store manager Angel Davis recalled the day in late November when the donor contacted her store wanting to cover the cost of the layaways. Shortly after the amount was calculated, a check was delivered, and customers were free to take the items home. The hardships many family have faced during the pandemic made this act of generosity especially meaningful. "It made us all feel really good and very proud to be part of this community," Davis told the Madison County Journal. "Being able to...tell these people that their layaways were paid off was very exciting. It takes a really, really big heart and selfless person to do something like this," she said.
