Lee and Dennis Horton were accused of bank robbery nearly 28 years ago. They maintained their innocence but were convicted and incarcerated until their sentence was commuted last year. The men, now in their 50s, were ill-prepared to step out into a world that has changed dramatically with the advent of technology. Libraries have offered the Hortons tools to help navigate the challenges they face in returning to society. While it has been more difficult to get the word out during the pandemic, many programs like Fresh Start, plus telephone conversations and outdoor meetings have enabled libraries to continue to offer help to former prisoners.
