Ireland recently gave all workers a "right to disconnect" from work-related communications outside their regular office hours, whether they work remotely or in an office. Britain's Trade Union Congress says unions in France and Germany have already won such rights for workers and that a UK survey shows widespread support for such a policy, which can provide better work-life balance. The European Parliament and Canadian government are exploring similar proposals.
