Love and kindness surrounded Surfside, Florida's grieving families in life and in death, after the condominium building collapsed on June 24. Funds are being donated to help survivors with immediate needs and support families of the dead. Trauma volunteers provide psychosocial support. Prepared food, snacks and beverages were dropped off at the community center and the JSC Kosher Food Bank in Miami, which gets the overflow, has never been so full. Volunteers walk wagons of food and water to workers at the disaster site. Belongings from the site are collected at a nearby makeshift memorial. And volunteers who prepare the dead for burial are on standby, even as people hope they won't be needed.
