In July 2021, Germany will reach its goal of having 1 million electric cars on the road, which is just six months later than planned. Economic Minister Peter Altmaier said many thought this would be unattainable, but the demand for electric cars increased, due to subsidy programs. As a result, Germany may soon have 7-10 million electric cars on the road, Altmaier said.
