Children and the elderly have a natural affinity for each other as they navigate the uncertainties of this world, and the pandemic only seems to have strengthened this bond. For 99-year-old Mary and 2-year-old Benjamin of Minneapolis. Their friendship developed naturally as they stepped out into their respective yards to break the enforced confinement of the lockdown. Innovative ball games, bubbles and water guns kept them going, bringing much cheer not only to themselves but to the community around them. "I'm happy they formed this friendship because it means a lot to her and it means a lot to him too," says Sarah Olson, little Benjamin's mother.
