A 15-year-old from Sri Lanka has spent his pandemic lockdown building a solar-powered tuk-tuk from scrap metal. It took him eight months, and it is not Suntharalingam Piranawan's first invention - others include a solar-powered foot cycle, a coconut picking machine, and coconut scraper. His grandfather helped him buy parts from second-hand shops, To keep their costs low, they sell back what they don't use. Next he wants to build a solar-powered car, and hopes the government and people will help him do it.
