A Facebook group called Vaccine Talk now has 70,000 members. Formed by Kate Bilowitz, a California-based mom who works for a real estate company, the group is her effort to make a positive difference in the world by providing a forum for people to share information and ask questions about the vaccine. Bilowitz and other volunteers manage the group closely; all who join the group must be approved and must commit to a code of conduct. Civility is key, as is providing citations for any claims a participant makes in the group. Similar groups exist on other platforms, providing a safe space for people to get information with citations that assist them in making good decisions to manage their health.
