Mandatory evacuation orders were issued for all South Lake Tahoe, California, residents recently as the Caldor Fire headed toward the area. By early afternoon, the few roads leading to safety were at a standstill. A longtime Tahoe area resident played his violin while being stuck in 2 hours of eastbound evacuation traffic on Highway 50. Other appreciative evacuees filmed his impromptu recital.
