When National Health Service staff in England began biking to work to avoid public transit during the pandemic, thieves began stealing their bicycles while they were inside the hospitals saving lives. So London mechanic Lawrence Mohammed began donating his time to repair stolen bikes recovered by police, and then give them back to NHS victims. Wednesday saw his second giveaway after high demand for the first in the spring. He is asking other bike shops to help him carry out repairs for free and is crowdfunding £25,000 for parts to repair more than 100 bikes for whom police could trace no owners.
