Nothing can stop primary school teacher, Dwipnarayan Naik, from West Bengal, India, from carrying out his duties not a pandemic, not a lack of resources or even infrastructure. Schools in India, like in the rest of the world, have been shut for more than a year, and in rural India, children have had little or no education at all. For Naik, this was an opportunity to bring his creativity into play the streets of the village turned into classrooms and the walls of homes into blackboards. The video provides a fascinating glimpse of children, duly masked and social distanced, lined up outside their homes, peering at laptops and practicing their writing and mathematics on their own individual blackboards, performing group aerobics and songs and obviously having fun, as only children can in trying circumstances. And with a teacher like Naik, they are obviously in the right hands.
