Spanish government researchers will share their easy-to-use coronavirus antibody test, which could significantly boost testing in low- and middle-income countries with a basic laboratory network. The World Health Organization started a COVID-19 pool last year, hoping to convince makers of virus tests, treatments, and vaccines to share their licenses so products could be produced and used by others globally, but this is the first time a manufacturer has agreed to help. The agreement with the Spanish National Research Council covers all related patents and biological ingredients needed to make the test.
