15-year-old Sydney Raley, an employee at McDonalds, jumped through the drive-thru window one Saturday morning after seeing the customer choking on a chicken nugget. With the help of a bystander, Raley performed the Heimlich maneuver she learned in her training four years ago. Meanwhile, the daughter in the vehicle called emergency services. The life of the customer was saved. Raley was given a monetary reward by the local police department and something else: confidence. "I feel I'm actually capable of contributing to society and capable of making a difference," she said.
