Chef Elijah Amoo Addo left his job as a chef to feed the hungry in Ghana. Amoo Addo, through his nonprofit, Food for All Africa, collects discarded food from suppliers, farmers and restaurants to feed Ghana’s poor. With a staff of 30 people, the organization provides 500 hot meals daily and overall serves 8,500 beneficiaries. In 2017, Amoo Addo was honored by Queen Elizabeth for his contribution to reforming Ghana’s food distribution system to reduce waste, overcome hunger, and alleviate poverty and malnutrition.
