Since May 2020, in Shropshire, UK, the More than Meals on Wheels service has been serving the old and vulnerable who have been self-isolating. The initiative, paired with community kitchen Osnosh, has prepared more than 40 hot meals per week for distribution, along with a bag of groceries for each recipient. The town council has also contributed to the effort which benefits 72 people. Supported shopping services, telephone befriending, information lines and newsletters have also been set up to keep in touch with them. “We thought that during lockdown people would be deteriorating and we were keen to stop them deteriorating as much as we could.” Laurel Roberts, chief officer for Qube, which launched the initiative
