A British woman named Sunday Blake recently went through surgery. While recovering at home, her neighbor, who fled Afghanistan and left behind his entire family only weeks ago, came over to pay a visit. He asked why she looked "skinny" and she told him she was ill and had just had surgery. After hearing about her condition, the neighbor returned to his home. He later came back with four dishes of warm, home-cooked food, including bread, spinach, okra, and yogurt. It was to help Blake in her recovery. She was touched, “I just thought this was a beautiful gesture of community in sharing some of his culture as an act of care.”
