The Polish people have opened their arms wide to receive Ukrainian refugees fleeing after the Russian invasion of their country. Thousands of families have opened their home to refugees, including Victor and Edyta who live about 10 kilometers (about 6 miles) from Warsaw. They have taken in a grandmother from Ukraine and her three grandchildren; the children's father stayed to fight and the mother is a nurse who stayed to attend to the wounded. Victor and Edyta have gone out of their way to make the family feel safe and welcomed and their efforts have been successful. When one of the young guests, Roman, was asked how he is settling in, he said, OK. Nice. I'm happy and feel welcomed.
