Along with cakes and cupcakes, a Pennsylvania bakery serves up kindness. When a woman experiencing homelessness came in asking for a cup of coffee, Jessica Pelletier, the owner of Wicked Sweets, posted a social media message asking customers to help her sell out her sweets to raise money for some of the woman's basic needs. The next morning, a long lineup formed outside her shop, and she was sold out by 10:00AM, raising more than $700 and receiving donations from all over. In addition to nights at the Ramada Inn, the woman received clothing, toiletries, a cellphone -- even a potential job offer. When people drop into Wicked Sweets, says Jessica, they know they will get more than they bargained for -- hug, a listening ear, a glass of water, a few moments of relief from the stresses of daily life.
