In the North Devon Frame Running Club, over 30 children with mobility challenges tried the Petra RaceRunner frames, a hybrid of a bike frame and a walking frame. The device allowed the kids to fully use their legs to walk or run, while still offering support to their upper body. "It gives them freedom of movement that they wouldn't otherwise have as a lot of these kids are in wheelchairs or struggle with mobility to access sport," says Gemma Rous, who launched the club. By expanding sports for people with disabilities, many of these youngsters are now able to participate in cardiovascular exercises that they never had before.
