Notre-Dame-de-Grace is a neighborhood in Montreal, Canada; the Notre-Dame-de-Grace Community Council (NDG Council) recently organized a prom giveaway event to help defray the costs of prom for students. Available at the event were prom dresses, suits, jewelry and shoesall free of cost. Free alterations were also available. The event was held in a daycare center in the same building as the council's offices. "It's a turning point for young people, it's a new chapter, and I know for a majority of young people, especially now, it's been a really hard time," said Wendy Gyetvay, owner of the daycare center. This is the council's third time giving second-hand prom wear a new life since 2018; the community is fully onboard as is evidenced by the fact that the council had to stop accepting donations because they couldn't keep up with the amount coming in.
