As places that look after memories, museums can be a valuable resource for people living with dementia and their caregivers. The House of Memories, a program of England's National Museums Liverpool, includes a mobile museum, caregiver trainings, a specially designed app, and in-person events. Director Carol Rogers began thinking of museums as a resource when her own mother was living with dementia and they needed tools to keep connecting with her. The trainings make caregivers more optimistic and confident and 10 years on, about 12,500 people have been trained. House of Memories has worked with institutions across the UK to apply the framework to their own collections and local history. It also has developed an app of images of objects from across the decades, with sound and music, and has partnered with a museum in Minnesota and one in Singapore to create versions of the app for those regions.
