Consisting of more than 300 white, dish-shaped antennas, the Daocheng Solar Radio Telescope (DSRT) is a new observatory joining China's satellite systems aimed at studying the Sun. The observatory itself is situated on the Tibetan Plateau and spans over 3 kilometers in circumference. Scientists are expecting the Sun to enter an active phase over the next few years, and with the DSRT's 313 antennae, the observatory can capture everything from ultraviolet and X-ray frequencies to coronal activity.
