Animal rights group Peta recently launched a competition to find a vegan wool alternative. The winning entry will be awarded with a £860,500 (roughly $1,022,000) prize. There are loads of alternatives -- mycelium, tencel, bamboo, hemp, soya beans. Wool itself is sustainable, renewable, and does not contribute to microplastics into the environment.
