Former chef of Google's famed in-house dining now oversees student nutrition for Morgan Hill USD in California. During COVID, he started a Freight Farm hydroponic vertical farm enclosed in a shipping container that now provides over 60% of the greens used on salad bars at Morgan Hill’s eight elementary schools as well as lettuce for composed salads served in the high schools. The district is now starting to develop some educational pathways with Next Gen science standards, using the hydroponic farm not only as a nutritional but also an educational tool.
