Travelers at Vancouver International Airport can now munch on bison pot roast and urban salmon burgers at the first Indigenous-owned and operated restaurant in a Canadian airport. Salmon n’ Bannock On The Fly, which began in downtown Vancouver, has opened a second location at the airport. Co-founder and owner Inez Cook, a member of the Nuxalk Nation in northern BC, was based out of the airport for 25 years of her 33 years as a flight attendant. She hopes the new location will help guests learn that "we are living cultures and we are happy to share our culture with them."
