A new record for wind generation was set in Britain on December 30th.
Cold weather that came with low wind meant that power cuts may be necessary due to high demand. Instead the weather turned milder and wind turbines produced 20.91 GW. A new record was also set for the share of electricity on the grid coming from zero-carbon sources.
