NASA announced it will work with Boeing on a new commercial aircraft that is more fuel efficient, cutting emissions and the impact on climate. To accomplish this, the plan is to use more efficient engines and wings with better aerodynamics, which will result in less fuel used. The biggest challenge is to create the structure needed for the wings without adding too much weight. "NASA aims to fly the first prototype in 2028 and for it to be in commercial use by the 2030s."
