For Baltimore-based childbirth educator and doula Ashlee Jaye Johnson, finding the right working space for her business was problematic until she found The Cube, a coworking space that lets members book affordable babysitting services at a dedicated onsite space. The Cube grew out of Tammira Lucas’ work as a “mompreneur”, designing and selling fashion accessories for infants and toddlers. Questions about how she started and ran her business led into consulting for other mompreneurs and inspired her big idea - a babysitting area in a coworking space, where entrepreneurs could leave toddlers with paid staff for a few hours. It has grown by leaps and bounds since 2017, and Lucas hopes to open a second location of The Cube in Atlanta later this year.
