Erin Percy posted a TikTok video showing a basket of graduation presents that she made for her daughter, Abby Rose, who is heading off to college. Each gift is individually wrapped with a handwritten note from Percy. The notes included messages such as “Open me when it’s cold outside,” “Open me before midterms,” and “Open me when you need a little jolt.” Percy hopes that the gift will help her daughter have a positive college experience after having a hard time in high school due to the COVID pandemic. The Alabama mother also disclosed that she is a stage 3 breast cancer survivor. “Abby Rose was my biggest cheerleader when I was sick from surgery, chemo and radiation,” Percy reveals. “Even though I’m seven years in remission, I worry, 'What if I can’t be there for her?' Subconsciously, I think that had something to do with the gifts as well.”
