The Swanton Public Library has a new employee with a big personality -- Benny, a 3-month-old tuxedo kitten found as a stray after being thrown out of a moving truck. The Wood County Humane Society helped him recover, and Anna Burwell, the library’s adult services coordinator, adopted him. "The kids love him," she said. "People tend to react really well to animals." Benny starts each shift by zooming through the empty bottom shelves of the bookcases and chasing the children before settling down for storytime. The library hopes to train Benny as an official therapy cat. "Benny is a good listener. He makes the children feel comfortable," Burwell said.
