As there are less than 500 Amur tigers left in the wild, there was great excitement at Ohio’s Toledo Zoo when twin cubs were born to Talya on July 20. While those hoping to see the female tiger twins in person will have to wait awhile, the public can help vote on possible names from options chosen by the staff who care for them. The choices are: Calida (Fiery), Kima (Butterfly), Valentina (Strong), Kamilla (Calming), Ember (Spark), Ash (Dream), Maya (Dream), and Nadya (Hope). It will cost fans $1 to vote for two names. All donations will go towards the care for and protection of the Amur tigers, both at the Toledo Zoo and globally.
