iGreen gadgets was exhibiting at Maker Faire Rome 2023, showcasing the only iPhone cover that you can plant after you are finished using it to see flowers and plants emerge from it. The gadget’s parts contain seeds, which disperse after being buried in soil and grow into full-blown plants and flowers. It is offered in green ("basil"), light blue ("forget me not"), and yellow ("daisy"), and is made in Italy. But it isn’t the only product that sprouts after its use is done. The business started in 2008 with just a couple of products and now makes more than 50, including everything from pencils to furniture to plantable postcards and beach towels. Company founder Andrea Mullineris says his dream was always to realize a project that supported and protected the environment.
