Alabama Uber driver Esbon Kamau, a father of five, should be on track for a stellar 2024 after returning $8,000 a teenager left in his vehicle. Over a 15-minute ride, his young client Alex Tisdale explained he was carrying $8,000 cash his father had given him to buy a new motorcycle. But Alex forgot the red Christmas bag in the back of the car. While Esbon reported it through the Uber app, Alex was frantically retracing his steps. When he also reported the cash missing, the Uber app reconnected the two, and Kamau headed back over to return the bag. Alex made sure Esbon drove off with a generous tip. “When you do something good, OK, it comes back 10 times,” Esbon said.
