Beyond the typical challenges of teenagers, 17-year-old Charlie Jeffers leads a nonprofit called "Pass the Bricks" that repurposes discarded LEGO sets for donation to local charities. Inspired by the observation of LEGO pieces ending up in landfills, Charlie collects donations, sanitizes the LEGO bricks, designs new sets, and delivers them to children in need. What started as a small community project has expanded globally, with volunteers in 38 cities worldwide, collecting 1500 pounds of bricks and donating over 3500 sets. Despite the unexpected growth, Charlie emphasizes the simple joy of bringing happiness to children through his passion for repurposed LEGOs.
