Food delivery driver Alan Moncayo had his daughter along with him when he dropped off a lunch order at the Fairfax County Animal Shelter in Lorton, Virginia, US, on a recent Saturday. Moncayo, a single father, took his 5-year-old daughter Sabrina along for his food drop-off, thinking he’d spend a few seconds making the delivery. But as he approached the shelter, he spotted a sweet-looking pooch stating at him through the front window. The dog reminded him of his late dog, Rusty, who ran away nearly 30 years ago. In fact, the two dogs were nearly identical. Moncayo had been resisting his daughter’s requests to get a dog, but this dog – Jihoo – pulled him in. Moncayo completed the adoption process during his visit and left with a very happy daughter, a new dog, and toys and food provided by the shelter. “We feel like a complete family now. He was always missing,” Moncayo said.
