Rick Everett had lost his job as an acrobat due to the coronavirus, and he wanted to help others. So he started offering free coffee to neighbors. When he started, he said the window would be open whenever he was home. He really wanted to do something nice and meet his neighbors for a friendly chat in a difficult time. Neighbors began stopping by to chat and bringing him goodies in return. In addition to the coffee and chat window, Everett has started a community herb garden and a communal pantry. “If hundreds of thousands of these things are going on, then the world changes. Nobody has to change the world alone. We do it together.”
