Alfred Guerra, a World War II veteran who earned the Bronze Star and Purple Heart, is receiving some kindness from his community. The 94-year-old's home had fallen into disrepair, and once his family spread the word that Guerra could use some assistance, offers of help soon came in. The pandemic slowed the repairs down, but Guerra now has a new roof, and walls have been opened up for new electrical and plumbing to be installed. Help has come in from several veterans organizations and some businesses. Watching it all, Guerra said that, if there ever was a dream come true, restoring his home was it. Although his memory is not what it used to be, Guerra said, I will never forget that you did this for me.
