Crowds lined up for hours outside the Warsaw University Botanical Gardens to see a rare sight -- the endangered Sumatran Titan arum, also known as the corpse flower, in bloom. The extraordinary flower, which can be up to 10 feet tall and emits a dead-body odor to attract pollinating insects that feed on flesh, bloomed Sunday but was already withering early Monday. Those who wanted to avoid the smell and the crowds could watch it on live video. The plant is endangered, due to deforestation in its native Sumatran rainforest habitat.
