Sisters Vira and Anastasiia Derun, whom are Ukrainian,run the D Light Caf & Bakery in Washington, D.C.Their parents are still in Ukraine, despite urges for them to come to the US. The sisters are doing their best to support their country's war effort by fundraising through the bakery. People lined up and down the block to support, and in just a week, the caf raised $7,000 to support the cause. With COVID, we've seen a lot of people hurting, but this one being so specific with the war a lot of people have come up and stepped up, said Bill Larson, a regular customer of the bakery as he described the overwhelming community support for the caf.
