A wedding has won the Scottish island of Skye a reputation for kindness. Amanda and Paul Riesel flew more than 4,000 miles from Orlando, Florida, to get married in the Highlands—after two years of planning and more than £12,000 in spending. But their plane was diverted, causing three days of delays, and arriving on Skye at 11pm the night before their wedding with no luggage, they were ready to call it off. Then local photographer Rosie Woodhouse made a late night appeal on social media and by 10 a.m., Amanda had eight wedding dresses of her size to choose from–and Paul had a full kilt set. Woodhouse gave the couple a home-cooked meal at her home. "We woke up to this beautiful thing orchestrated for us," Amanda said. "The people of Skye will be famous in Orlando because we will tell anyone who will listen that they are the reason our love was cemented into a perfectly imperfect wedding day."
