To help many of the 200,000 Ukrainian computer programmers who have lost work due to war, a Ukrainian company is asking European and North American companies to hire Ukrainian tech talent for contract-development work. Co-founded by Ivan Kosyuk, UA IT Hub is a network of 1,200 programmers, designers, and other specialists who need extra flexibility in scheduling due to the war. It puts together teams of tech workers, and provides project management and coordination. When a project becomes available, UA IT Hub posts the requirements online and fashions a team of engineers to fit them. The work pays well enough that contractors can work less and get the same salary while having time for family and voluntary obligations. "Even small tech projects can help us give jobs to people, [to] pay taxes to our country and keep volunteering," says Kosyuk.
