Bill Gates plans to donate $20 billion to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, run by him and his ex-wife, Melinda French Gates. The foundation has increased its payouts significantly over the course of the pandemic, and its money is used to help solve global issues, such as education or gender equality. Furthermore, the billionaire plans to eventually drop off the list of richest people in the world. "I have an obligation to return my resources to society in ways that have the greatest impact for improving lives," Gates says.
