Israel, along with many other countries, has turned to Gaza to help them deal with the coronavirus. Orders are flooding into the blockaded Gaza Strip, where "joblessness, poverty and dependency on international aid were already at epidemic proportions," the New York Times reports. Ziad Qassem, a tailor of 25 years, has been offered about $12 a day to "put his sewing machine mastery to use" again. I can breathe now, he said. I can buy things for my family. It's is a newly formed economic relationship. Gaza has the factories and Israel needs the goods. As another Gaza resident, Raed Dahman, said, "At the end of the day, we are all humans. We should try to make sure everyone is safe, without exceptions."
